Hanton City
« on: March 07, 2008, 05:30:03 PM »
Hello,
Has anyone ever heard of Hanton City. I went there today, its in Smithfield, RI not far from Bryant college. Its a bunch of old foundations, and wells, and stone walls. From what i gather online, there is 2 sections, I only found one section. Anyone got any history or more info. on it.
Thanks
Joe

I've heard of it but never went.

I've been planning to go here for a while, but the directions were pretty bad.

How did you manage to find it?

old topic . .  i know, been awhile i've checked out the site

anyway, i went a couple times a few years ago and both times some old guy in a truck was parked on the trail and told me to get lost. I gave him the story about just wanting to take a few pics of hanton city but he didnt wanna hear it and told me it was private property and i had to leave. i thought it was wierd for some old guy to park in the middle of the woods on sundays waiting to tell people who may or may not show up to leave. i think dupont or some big company owns the land.
