I know it's been a while, but yeah, I was upset to find out that they had knocked down the original mill.  I went there a few times, and have met the owner, who said that they knocked it down just before he bought it.  He is planning to fix up the remaining part of it.  I've also been to the old Knowles Mill, which is downstream, across the railroad.  It was much smaller, and was demolished last year.  I didn't go in because it was definitely unsafe.  Too bad though, it was a neat place.  I think there is part of another mill across the river I never made it to.
