Hey guys, just stumbled across your site tonight as I was doing google searches on abandoned buildings and whatnot in Massachusetss, Tauton State Hospital in particular. (I live in a neighboring town).
Anyway, I checked out your photo gallery from all the places you've explored. That was great stuff! Some of those places look really awesome. My favorite was the "Concrete Jungle" that was really cool. That is entirely abandoned? Do you have any background on it? What it was, etc?
Awesome site anyway.
I've done a bit of "exploring" myself, its really pretty fun which is why I was looking up abandoned places. I haven't found any big places like some of the stuff you guys have checked out but I've gone to a few abandoned houses in my town, one of which is gone now, torn down now I guess. Was a cool place, one of those local legend type deals, supposedly haunted and such. I went there a few times with friends. Was a neat place. Tons of papers and whatnot all around. Silver ware still in drawers, everything still in the house. That was the hangout for the local satanists (never knew we had any), a bunch of pentagrams and the like spraypainted on the walls.
The other is a small abandoned house about 2 minutes walking distance down the road from my house. Its pretty amazing because the house is completely abandoned but it sits literally not 20 feet from a major ("major" for my town) road. Its right there in plain sight, not some old abandoned house out in the middle of the woods or something like that. Either way, its abandoned, and its filled with really cool stuff. I found tear gas bottles in there, a huge collection of pocket knives, really really old B&W photographs from a family trip to Africa I think? Not sure really. A bunch of old slides, also from said trip. Found a dead fox in the basement, plus the rats scurrying around in the ceiling.... cool stuff ;) along with an old American and British flag buried underneath a bunch of crap in the workshop room, both of which I of course "liberated". Also in the workshop found a few rolls of steel, from Imperial Knife company. I'm going to guess the guy that lived there made knives for a living. Also found a bunch of old books, one of which was a class year book from Harvard Medical school, and get this, the graduating class? 1928.
The book is in nearly MINT condition. 1928.
Of course now that I look for all the pictures I took it seems they are gone from my harddrive. Oh well. Another interesting thing was outside the house, in the backyard (Its actually a wooded area) there is a really odd concrete "structure" I guess you would say. It stands no more than a few inches off the ground, its a circular concrete thing. Its pretty large, much bigger than a septic system cover. Odd, but I didn't pay it too much attention, was trying to get into the house without being seen.
Also tried to check out Shad Factory mill in Rehoboth, heard it was haunted. Unfortunately a few minutes after we got their the cops showed up claiming neighbors reported a loud party 20 minutes ago (we had been there less than 10) and that we were trespassing. We weren't even really sure where the hell the thing was. Anyone got info on it?

Ok, not sure if anyone even cares about all of the crap I just wrote but whatever. Cool site though, I'll probably be hanging around to look through it better.

Edit: Oh.. was wondering if any of you had information also on the abandoned building (power station or something?) out in hockomock swamp? in the Rehoboth, Bridgewater, raynham etc Massachusetts area?

You have to be careful at the shad.
Cops keep a close eye on everything!
There is a watershed nearby, and nesting spots for birds and all that.

Here is a link on the hockomock for ya.

QuoteYes I live in Rehoboth
PM me
this is an open forum, and we don't put locations in the open.
especially since lots of people like to vandalize.

Yeah man, the cops were on us so fast. I've never seen Rehoboth cops work that fast.

Yeah I found that website a while ago. Its a joke between all my friends now, one of these days we're going to go find bigfoot.
I wanted to check out the "power plant" there, no clue how to get there though, was hoping someone might have info?

edit: OK I'll Pm you.

Rehoboth is an "interesting" town to say the least!

lol rehoboth cops are very board they always have been since i was a kid. was out taking some pics at the old town offices nike missile site and they came up on me the other day. even with my written permission from the selectmen they stayed around until i was done and escorted me from the premises.

history is always eroding

Hey nut,
We should meet up. Just to compare stories.
I am a resident of Rehoboth. They have done the same to me.
Maybe if we give them some d and  d coffee, they'll look the other way!
