Taken from another UE site. Gungywamp in Groton, CT evidently holds a lot of history which growing up in the area I have never heard about. Interesting read, and id like to look up more about this in the future and visit this site in the spring when it warms up a bit.

Whats going on dude?  Theres a very similar place like that in Salem, NH too.  Not sure how cool it is but check it out.

One of the places on my to-do list, definitely.  Gungywamp road is a very busy road and I'm not sure where to park, nor am I all that certain that I know the actual location. haha.
I hide in the shadows and babble about old things.  I appear to most new members of IB.  I might beat you with my cane.

not much man, been busy with life. honeymoon, house hunting, selling the car that made me internet famous for something more practical. watching NSH daily get torn down.

Meg your right im not 100 I know where this is either

Just know that its not officially open to the public - so watch where you park...I think its owned by the "Gungywamp Society".  The people that live on the little dirt road by the entrance keep an eye on it.

I did know that, which is why I haven't been there, and when they have official tours I always have to work or something stupid

You can park elsewhere and mountain bike in.   We weren't hassled that way - but depends on luck and avoiding the locals.
