If you find my ATM card lemme know, lost it there! It's actually officers quarters, the little island was actually Fort Pickering and then a USCG air station. There is also an old 19th century powder bunker and some "igloos" used to store depth charges, along with a big hangar for the USCG planes, but I don't think the USCG uses the site anymore.

You can see that building in the background of a few pics here -> http://www.uscg.mil/history/stations/airsta_salem.asp

Jeopardy fact: There's another Fort Pickering in Memphis. I've been to both. A little digging around lists another Fort Pickering in Georgia as well.

If you're into fots Fort Lee is also in Salem on Fort Ave, but overgrown.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Lee_(Salem,_Massachusetts)

Maybe we can move this to the Bunkers section since it's actually a military site with bunkers on the property :)

no access

yeah it was in the back but it had totally been moved a bit away from the building.. i mean unless you have wings and flew in :P

If you're in the area shoot me a msg, I'm always up for something and dont mind visiting places i've already been. Even with the dumpster it was a bit of acrobatics to get up through the window, not sure i could even do it now that i'm an old man lol
