Its coming down. They already have a playground and a basketball/tennis sports complex on the grounds.
Yes the ever present guards were around, but I managed to catch a few pics.

It's been sold by some developer.
The town wants to put affordable housing on some of the property and turn
the rest of it into elderly housing.
The funny thing is the cemetery is still run down.
That would probably be the last thing they fix.
Wonder Museum is also gone!
I believe that was the first to go.

I went there Sunday and was inside the buildings and all around the land. There were two gaurds but they never noticed. What i dont understand is, if its sold why is there a large sign up saying for lease?

The people they sold the place to are now trying to turn around and lease out sections to businesses. Its much like the arrangement at the Carver Cotton Gin. The outer buildings are used by businesses but the majority of the place remains abandoned but the owner is taking in some cash while waiting for the place to burn down so that they can collect on insurance. Grrrrrgh.
