VHS...now that's badass.
I've done that with a video of my grandfather when he was interviewed by WJAR in 1988, just to preserve it. The VHS I did it from was getting really worn out.
There are several ways of doing it, the easiest is to pay someone else (lol).
There's a $50 thing you can get from Best Buy (it might be more now, like $100). It sucks but it does the job. Anything that gives you a USB input from audio/video cables will do, actually, paired with any cheap video editing software.
