I had a shoot in Waterbury CT yesterday, so I figured...while I was THERE...may as well return to Holy Land USA.  That and I needed some nice "neighborhood shots" of Waterbury, and where better than to shoot from the top of Pine Hill?

Anyway, I don't have time to post pics right at this moment since I have to be in New Britain for 8:30, but I will post my OLD pics from 2006. A lot has changed and a lot is completely gone.

There were two other locations explored too--one I don't remember the name of but due to a communications error I photographed a building months before I was supposed to (right now it's in the middle of interior demolition so and it was abandoned), and the last location was Little People Village. :)

And since no one took me up on my facebook offer, I took my mom.  She is totally badass.

First gallery is up:

SMH Family Health Center - Waterbury.

This is a future location for the health center that hires me regularly.  I think someone thought it was...further along than current interior demo of the old health center...

Of course while I was in Waterbury I definitely had some other plans.  Getting the neighborhood shots was my excuse for going back to Holy Land but my 2006 pics of the city certainly weren't going to cut it so...

10. Not Holy Land, but in the parking lot of where we parked.  Yes, we hoofed it ridiculously far to Holy Land rather than parking outside the entrance, but the place is wallpapered with no trespassing signs now (it wasn't in 2006) and when we had driven through the neighborhood we noticed the cops patrolling.  So we parked at the mall across I-84 because my car was too nice to leave in that neighborhood (yes, paranoid, but I like my car, and Waterbury has the highest car theft rate in the state. lol)

Little People Village is not very far from Holy Land, so just as I had done in 2006, we went there next.

Yesterday:

11. People who weren't familiar with Little People Village bitched that you couldn't get a sense of scale with the 2006 pics so HERE. stfu.  lol

And random gravestones glowing red that we found after dinner at sunset in Colchester on our way home.

I'm feeling lazy or there would be more pics.  When I feel like it I'll post them up on my site.

P.S. When we left Holy Land my mom was a little paranoid and didn't want to leave the same way we came in, so we randomly picked a direction and cut through the woods and found a massive bottle dump.  I found a nice little blue bromo bottle, but it's still in my car so no pics. haha

Yesterday was awesome.

wow, these are awesome! Glad you had a good time!

Awesome pics Meg!  Def have to check Holy Land out.  I assume Chloe Ottman was the girl that got murdered down there, was that graffiti hard to find?

No, sadly not hard to find as she was murdered at the base of the big cross you see in the pictures.
