On June 24, 2011 we did a major upgrade to the forum software.  The primary purpose was to reduce the number of jerk spammers and hackers looking to damage our home.  We also wanted to provide enhancements that the forum was lacking. 

For some of the newer folks here, InsaneBunkers will be 10 YEARS OLD next October.  We started with a small, few pictures site, to a full blown site with front page news, forums and user gallery as well as a google map database.  Those were the good old days... before Facebook took over the world and photo sharing sites were ubiquitous.   Unfortuantely we lost all of the great user-contributed content in a catastrophic hardware failure from the webhost.

Back to today..  Now with so many websites connecting with social networking, media sites, sites offering more and  more features, including mobile device formatting, we needed to give IB an upgrade.   

Thanks to all the awesome users out there that share their pics and adventure stories.   I don't get out nearly as much as I used to.   

So, what I want to do here is keep a list of the improvements so that everyone knows what the added functionality to the site is.  If you have any suggestions.. please let us know.   As long as a developed mod is avaialble that is robust and supported, we'll install it.

Lastly, BIG THANKS to Megster who is our lead Admin.  She really keeps this place running and swats away the spammers.




• Facebook Like.  (suggestion: Megster).   The first post of each topic has a Facebook like button.  A good way to get the word out about IB.
• Tapatalk.  (suggestion: Megster).   There are two ways to access IB from your mobile device.  Either as-is which isn't a bad experience OR you can use Tapatalk.  It's easy.  Down load the Tapatalk app to your Andriod or iPhone device and now IB has a slick, portable device-formatted look that's easy to use.  http://www.tapatalk.com/   There are two versions for the iPhone - paid which allows you to post, or free (or "lite?") which allows you to read only.
• InsaneKarma is a feature that shows the popularity of a member. Members can 'nice!' or 'take my flashlight away' other members, which is how their popularity is calculated.
