There is a pill box on the east side near the parking lot. The main bunker is currently used by the town. Two of the entrances have gates plus locks and the third is sealed up tigher than chihuahua's @sshole. If you go into the woods on the west side you'll traces of its former self but thats about it. A good place to visit is ft greble on dutch island.

Sorry to hear it! When I went it was still open, they had some junk in Battery 213 but it wasn't sealed off. Battery Whiting, near the parking lot, was backfilled but a little digging opened it up for me. It was also the only time I lost my wedding ring! Luckily I found it after I climbed back inside and it was on top of the sand, thought I'd have to come back with a metal detector.

The bunkers at Beavertail is Fort Burnside http://fortwiki.com/Fort_Burnside

They went seriously overboard with Battery Whiting...even the ready ammo boxes near the gun pits are blocked up with rocks.
