Psychiatric, one of the best known anywhere. I stayed away for *literally* years because of all the stories about the cops. They do patrol the perimeter, but as long as you're careful and quiet and enter before daylight, you wont have any problems...

wow check out the moss growing on the floor  ^_^ awesome.

How long has this been abandoned?  NJ is slightly off my radar except for some things I heard about in 2004.

Coming from Buffalo is a haul for sure but lots of nice dilapidated things to see along the way!  Lots of abandoned things in the Niagara Falls area too.  (just passed through on my way back from a trip to Canada)
I hide in the shadows and babble about old things.  I appear to most new members of IB.  I might beat you with my cane.

Hey Meg,
Glad you liked the pics, its been abandoned since 1998, but seems like much longer in some of the wards, given the condition, admin has been abandoned for not long at all, and they're using it for storage right now. Whats in Niagara Falls that's worth seeing? I ask because I like local explores, much easier, but thought I'd exhausted all the possibilities... Buffalo's real close to Niagara Falls, beats driving out to the east coast all the time...

This place seems untouched..well in the sense it has minimal vandalism. Fantastic pics overall, I'm envious
