Did anyone see this too?   How can this guy give his name, get this article published, sell his pics of himself blatantly trespassing, and yet face no consequences whatsoever?  In addition he selfishly brings more attention to spots that need no more attention brought to them. He's doing this for cash, not because he "doesn't want the public to forget these places", give me a break!

Actually a cop told me once that if they don't catch you physically there, there's really not much they can do about it.  There's a lot of people who publish their photos and books often highlight the abandoned places (see: Weird New England/New Jersey/Mass/ etc).  I want to publish my better works some day and sell them, yes.  And I have photos on my website with my name and everything, but I don't give exact locations of places that are still standing.  (Although...with a place like NSH, I don't need to).

...But sometimes my husband is like "who would buy a book full of abandoned houses"  so maybe there's not as much money in it as you think LOL

Thats interesting they can't do anything to you especially if you have all this proof and willingly gave your name.   When I see a really cool picture someone took, my first thought isn't oh let me go buy it on someblowhard.com.  My first thought is damn, I have to get over there and take one for myself!  Yeah I don't know about a book on abandoned houses  ^_^

lol yep.

There's some guys who started out like we all did and now they not only have a book but one of them is part of the preservation group for Bannerman Castle and all that goes with it.  Both of them are actually respected for the work & research they did.  But...6 years ago or so, they were just a couple of guys who happened to explore abandoned buildings.

And then there's Rob Dobi, who now gets permission to explore insane places because his work is just that good.

What I would give for permission for this place! http://robdobi.4ormat.com/7363-featured-essays-palace-majestic-theaters  I know where it is but don't have any idea how I would go about getting permission for a day.  I wouldn't risk it otherwise because I don't think it would be easy to get into undetected.

And there's this book I found at Borders for $100 http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Room-Eugene-Richards/dp/0714848328/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1289306811&sr=8-1
