Sorry to whoever posted a question about a UE Documentary on Netflix.

I'm interested in this name of this...

first time we see you around these parts in months andddddd you go and do that.  lol

I've been battling a nasty virus on one of my home computers (I don't use it much...my darling-not-so-computer-savvy-husband does)...it's like one of those things "Megy, I know it's 7AM but can you come look at the computer? I think it has a virus..." )

you know, the type of thing you really don't want to hear before a cup of coffee.  So that's why I haven't been around much since Thursday, I've been dealing with this stupid thing and threatening the husband with "you know, if I have to format this...I'm not going to...YOU ARE, and I'll sit and watch". ...because this is like the third time we've gotten a really super nasty virus.

Running last scans now, crossing fingers!  Last scan might take a while so I'm back to do easy things, like kill spam bots.

Also interested in the name of this documentary!
I hide in the shadows and babble about old things.  I appear to most new members of IB.  I might beat you with my cane.

It was me. I can look up the name when I get home. It followed a couple different explorers in the mid west and their explorations.

Lol.  Yep, I feel like such a jerk coming in a breaking the joint.  Heh..

Regarding the viruses Meg, what's up?  A photographer without a Mac?  That's blasphemy!

Yeah, I got real sick of the Windows crap.   I just retired my last Windows machine.  Now I run a virtual WIndows 7 machine with Avast (free) antivirus on a little (less $) Mac Mini .  It seems to be running OK.   I only use it for the now-defunct Microsoft Money app.

Good luck with the format and reinstall.  Yuck.

ended up not having to format, the virus was a doozy but I got it!

yeah, def. real tired of dealing with nasty viruses but haven't made the big switch to Mac.  My laptop is usually ok with AVG and keeping up with scans.  Thinking hubby needs a Mac.  Time is money and a Mac for him would pay for itself within a few months, haha.

Hell, I'm not even at Windows 7 yet.  Holding onto XP for dear life! LOL  (loathe Vista, I hear 7 is a million times better, but I'm definitely wary after Vista and having to deal with Office 2007 on my sister-in-law's computer).

Money's the big thing...don't yet see a Mac in my particular future when my laptop is still chugging along...for now.  The computer that got the virus (hubs uses it to talk to his family) has been on its way out for years. In fact...come to think of it...it's the same dinosaur of doom I had when I first joined this site. LOL  Of course having 2 computers makes killing viruses easier (most of the time...).
