Quarry in Slatersville
« on: September 13, 2010, 03:30:59 PM »
I heard that there is an abandoned quarry in Slatersville. Its in a secluded area and inaccessable by car. It was last used in the Civil War era, when they used to sharpen weapons there. Apparently its unchanged from when it was last used. Has anyone else heard about this?

No, but I wouldn't doubt it.  There are more of those around than you think, but if machinery is still present that could make it quite interesting.

Went up there recently but couldnt find anything like a quarry. Planning a return trip once the temp is above freezing.
