Dogtown, Mass.
« on: August 09, 2010, 06:26:27 AM »
So, anyone else been to Dogtown besides me?  I'd been wanting to go since I first heard about it in 2003/4 but didn't go until Friday.  My mom and I had been in Boston for something else and then decided to hike Dogtown, but then we got stuck in traffic for a million years and only had time to find three boulders before dark LOL.

Next time we go, we're going JUST for Dogtown and nothing else.  You really need all day.

I haven't uploaded my pics yet but did get a funny pic of my mom next to the HELP MOTHER boulder.  And she pointed out that the SAVE rock is like a save point in real life, so I told her if we approached it we would probably get attacked by wild bears at the last moment, because that's how video games are, kill you when you can SEE the save point. lol

Anyway, don't go without a map, it's hard enough to find the correct trail if you try to park at the communications tower because there's like 4 trails staring you in the face.  We took all of them and didn't find anything until the LAST effort to find the boulders...but it was a lot of fun. :)

These were taken late in the day (like 7 lol--and we still had to drive 130 miles home/work the next day etc etc)
