Weird Shit / Re: 4X's Haunted Bridge
Last post by ericax1208 - June 23, 2016, 02:34:48 AM
REALLY late to the party here... but I live in Bristol. I can tell you with absolute certainly that the "4X's" do exist, though not on a bridge. They are located off of Metacom Ave. near Mt. Hope Farm (not on the property, a few streets away). The road is actually known by locals for being haunted, but it has nothing to do with the 4X's. Mt. Hope Farm and the surrounding area was where King Phillip's War took place, meaning that there were a decent amount of people who died out there. I had a teacher in high school who swore she saw the ghost of some of the Native Americans that died there (though I don't believe her, major sceptic here) and an old boyfriend told me that he had witnessed a few paranormal encounters here as well. It's quite a dark and interesting ride down that road at night. Not scary at all though. It's right next to a neighborhood.

Urban Exploration / Colt Andrews Tunnels Bristol, ...
Last post by ericax1208 - June 23, 2016, 02:24:54 AM
Hey!
I was just curious if anyone knows anything about the tunnels under Colt Andrews School in Bristol? There's almost no information on it, and according to locals, no one has been able to go all the way through the tunnels in years. They say that they don't even know where they lead. Most people think that they were used for the slave trading in Bristol that was run mainly by the DeWolf and Colt families, but I'm very curious to find out more information.
Thank you!

Here are links to blog posts with photos about these three sites in Norwich. Some of you may be familiar with them but I figured I would post them anyway in case some have not heard of these places.

Here is a link to a blog post with photos about a site in Meriden, CT. The boiler house is one of the only structures left standing of the International Silver Factory H complex.

It looks like the building is still standing. I was thinking of checking this place out. Also, there are two smaller buildings about a quarter mile to the south beside some railroad tracks. Do you know anything about that?

Urban Exploration / Baltic Mills, Sprague, CT
Last post by nassahegon73 - June 11, 2016, 07:54:52 AM
There is not much left of this former textile manufacturing complex that at one time was the largest in the Western Hemisphere. A fire in 1999 gutted the main manufacturing building which was then torn down. Other buildings were torn down as well. Two structures remain, a four-story building and a two-story building. The mill chimneys are also intact. Here is a link to post with photos:

Urban Exploration / Asbestos risk
Last post by nassahegon73 - June 11, 2016, 07:51:15 AM
I am wondering what people think about the risk of asbestos exposure. I have read some articles that make it sound like a grave danger and others that do not mention it at all. I am of the opinion that as long as you do not touch or disturb anything or kick up dust then you should be fine, even without a mask or respirator. Feel free to write back with your opinions.

Urban Exploration / Former Owens-Illinois Complex,...

This factory originally produced aerosol products before being purchased by the plastics company Owens-Illinois who manufactured soda bottles here. I visited the site twice and wrote two blog posts.
