Last year, in an effort for work on a book I am co-authoring, with a great friend of mine, I returned to the place I called home for over 15 years. This time legally after reaching out to the right people. Taking in over 6 figures a year I cannot risk things like this anymore for the rush, the passion or the love. Its just not wise. It felt odd being escorted around, but open grounds for a worthy cause was cool. Some photos are professional, some are from my cellphone. Enjoy.

Hey Kurt.  Some of us are still kicking around here.  Good to hear from you.

I had no idea infrared imagery looked like that. Amazing pics.  Wow.

Been a while since I have been on here. Hope you are all well.

I just moved from Massachusetts down to Charleston, West Virginia.

Been into a lot of infrared lately.

4. pre-civil war wine cellar in Kanawha County

Welp, I finally I ended up trying to drive to the Sherman Dam last summer, it's very uninviting with no trespassing signs, I still ended up in a parking lot but I chickened out and banged a U-Turn. I parked by the depot bridge and debating in going in the old mill there, but I didn't. I plan to this year. I had the week off and made a point to just get out somewhere rural, I needed it. Adams MA was pretty interesting place to walk around. They were doing railroad work at Hoosac Tunnel, and a MA state trooper drove by and I was like "Not today."

H Insane Bunkers,

its been a long while, but thought I'd add an update to this page. We recently did a story on RI gold mine from the past that included the Copper Hill Mine. Along with the story we have a google map showing its location, and a video looking inside the now blocked 200' tunnel. We thought you might be interested. Here is the link. Enjoy!

Weird Shit / Re: Abandon Tunnel in Providence

When I loved on benefit street from 1969 to 1971. There were many slave tunnels that ran from the river up to a few places on the east side.  One rant to the house I lived in.   One ran to what eS then known as the Geary Mansion. Another rant to another house that was torn down to build one of the buildings at Brown. I think it was the engineering bldg or education building.  Not sure.  There was a bus tunnel that went UNDER Benefit street  and about 100 yards in to the tunnel there was an old iron door that had a huge area that was reputed to have been a selling stage and a couple of tunnels running down to the river.  The  river has been moved twice since those days and I am not sure if the tunnels or how many of the tunnels still exist.   RISD. Bought the old Stone Bank building, so I would check out the old bus tunnel  it's the next street/ hill to the left of the gold domed ex bank building.  There was a tunnel that went in the direction of that building so likely that a RISD professor could have discovered it.  Back then I had a book that had a map of the slave tunnels of Providence and the east side.  I don't know who it was published by,  but after exploring quite a few,  I think you probably are speaking about one of those and not a train tunnel
