I saw a post on "Satelite Imagery" that didn't include google earth or google maps. Google maps is an online program for satellite imagery and directions, Google earth is the same but is a downloadable program. These have been really helpful for me for scouting a location before going out on the ground. If you've got an address just put it in. For intersections just put the two street names with an amphersand (&) between them, followed by the city and state. For coordinates just use the at symbol (@) followed by number for north/south (if north it is a positive number, if south it would be a negative) then a comma, then the east/west number (if east it is a positive number, if west it is a negative number).

Welcome to the board.
The problem with Google maps is that sometimes its resolution is too low, i.e. that the map can't take you close enough to to the destination for one to get a good fix on the details of the target.
http://maps.yahoo.com/beta/ has better resolution then google maps. Give it a try.
I hear that "Bing" is pretty good in that you can view images from an angle.

Bing.com/maps is phenomenal! i use it all the time before going to a place.
