Oh dear lord I shouldn't even merit this with a response.  Ladd's just not worth it.  There's bigger and better places you can go.

Welcome to the board.   :D

Yea,    Ladd School Is not what it used to be, most of the cool shit that was around is long gone ...(Damn State.) What's left is not worth getting caught for.

Yeah I tried going there recently and as soon as we pulled up the road a state cop pulled in right behind us. We all had to give him our ID's as well as answer a whole bunch of questions individually. The cop explained that there's so much security now because about 2 months ago a few kids went in and found a bottle of acid. Since they were obviously really smart they took the bottle out and smashed it on the ground  .. they ended up being badly burned. We tried explaining to the cop that we just wanted to take pictures of the outside of the building but I don't think he really bought it and told us that if we were ever seen there again we would be arrested.

I wanted to ask him if he would just go inside with us so we could take pictures and he could make sure we didn't get hurt or ruin anything.. but for fear of getting arrested I decided to just say okay we won't come here again and just leave..

haha.. I guess it was cool just getting to see the outsides of the buildings for myself although I couldn't get any pictures or anything. I would love to figure out how to get in without getting arrested before it closes.. I know there isn't really much left but since I live so close and I've heard so much it would just be nice to just get a feel for the place.

p.s. In case anyone didn't understand the sarcasim.. it really pisses me off that people can be so stupid.
=)

ive been driving around scoping out the grounds as of late, since my fiance lives  15 mins away. I noticed on the back side of the building connected to the circular building there is a second story window out. Easily accessible with a ladder, but also hard to hide if someone ( police ) are being nosey and patrolling the grounds. But also on the front half of the building we noticed a door with a padlock on the front. Thinking of cutting it but leaving it looking as though its together, then going back in a week or so where we can just go and duck right in. Havnt seen the state police once yet. maybe luck maybe not. Ive read alot online about some window or something thats busted out with an upside down trashcan on the other side to climb down on to. a basement window i think? anyone know nething about this, and any ideas regarding my idea to get in? im willing to meet up with people to go in at once if theres an interest.

I haven't been inside yet, but I drove around the other day and took pictures. Anyway, on the building all the way on the left (Howe?) has a window out with boards or something propped up against the wall-- to climb in I'm assuming.. and I believe this is where the upside down trash can will be waiting for you haha.. I'm hoping to go in soon, I just can't get caught a second time so I most likely will be going during the day since I got permission from the state cops to be there although they obviously didn't say I could go inside.. but I figure I know the place well enough to not get caught..

Haha, good luck--- maybe I'll see you there!

I don't remember if all the buildings look the same, but I think I've been in that one.  And if I was, it was the only building there I dared go in, because my car was parked right outside of it and we only stayed about five minutes for fear of getting caught.  (Then again, this was three years ago before that whole news broadcast that resulted in the increased security, etc etc etc.)

And I didn't have to climb through a window.  The back door was wide open.

Damn I wish it was that easy nowadays.. The state police gave me permission to walk around all I want and take pictures which is cool.. but one of these days I'm going to go right in.. I don't even think anyone would notice if I went in the daytime..

Gahh but it'd be so much better if I could just go through a door.. jeez.
Title: Re: The Ladd School
Post by: Megster on February 14, 2006, 08:21:52 AM
My main thing is that no one would know I was there if I didn't have to worry about hiding my car.  I'd love to go back to Ladd, and if I lived within a couple miles I would probably walk there every day...but I live more like 45 minutes from there.
Title: Re: The Ladd School
Post by: XxCieloxX on February 14, 2006, 11:56:40 AM
Yeah I live like 15 minutes away which is cool. I've also thought of a couple of places to park, although I haven't tried them yet so be careful lol. (I'm gonna abbreviate some things so I don't add too much detail since we can't do the private messeges, hopefully you understand for the most part.)

Most require some walking..

1. There's a big dirt area in the Vet Cem (if you go in and drive towards Ladd), with large hills that you could park next to and I don't think any cops check in there, especially if you park far back enough.

2. As long as it's during the day you could park right at the J.C. (towards the end so you could walk along the woods)

3. If you're going really late at night these two probably won't work but you could park at the Variety Store and walk through the woods

4. Or, this would probably a littly iffy, but there's a house on the road after Ladd that you can see Fogarty right in there back yard. I've never met the people but I was thinking about asking them to park in their driveway and then just walking through their yard and onto the Ladd property.. that is, if they aren't the kind of person that will be like um sure, and then end up calling the cops and telling them exactly where I am.. haha

5. Or you could just park on that road, between two houses so you wouldn't really be on either's property as long as they don't see you walk near their house..

Post by: Megster on February 16, 2006, 11:14:42 AM
There's a road near Ladd that my friend and I saw some lady walking her dog, and later, while we were driving around Ladd, we saw the same woman very close to the Ladd property.  Perhaps that's near Fogarty? I'm not familiar with the building names there.

Post by: XxCieloxX on February 16, 2006, 02:49:32 PM
Yeah, Fogarty is the big circular orange one.. hah I was just driving around there for like an hour, those people must think I'm crazy haha.. how weird would it be though to have a part of Ladd in your backyard..
Title: Re: The Ladd School
Post by: Megster on February 16, 2006, 03:49:49 PM
No...how cool would it be if you lived there when you were like 5 and the whole place was your playground? lol
Title: Re: The Ladd School
Post by: XxCieloxX on February 16, 2006, 07:36:05 PM
lol yes that would be cool too.. I might be traumatized from that as a child though haha.. I heard from someone on another forum that their mother worked there or something and she went there when she was young and there were all these naked people just laying on the floors in the hallways and stuff.. maybe it's a stretch but I wouldn't doubt it too much

Probably not. My grandmother used to work at Mansfield Institution (which used to be a state mental hospital, now half of it's abandoned and the other half is used by UConn), and she said someone tried to kill her with a chair.

ah, that picture of the open window with the boards makes me want to go there and jump in right now, theres no underground tunnels like norwich is there? Ill have to drive around agian, But fear of getting caught, and not knowing the place like i know norwich is against me.

There's no cops during the day at all.. and I saw the lady walking her dog! She parks at one of the end buildings and walks her dogs through the woods... the first time I saw the car I though hmm.. maybe it's someone that is inside from insanebunkers.com or something haha, but it ended up being her. So then the next day I went back again just because I was in the area, and she was there at the same exact time in the same exact place. It's odd, but she's very nice.. She has a blue car just incase anyone sees her.

There is a rear entrance to the ladd school property. driving down the backroad you can see a cement road heading south towards the property, but there are two houses on either side . If you keep heading west on this road you can see fogarty beyond a field which is one houses backyard.  Keep driving west and about a 1/4 of a mile past the house is a small ATV trail on the left side of the road.  you can pull your car right into there and pull into the woods until you cannot see the road any more.  Then you have to hike about a 1/3 mile south east through the woods.  this will lead to the riverfield building.  From here just be carefull not to be seen

the first one out front? whats the one in the back right hand of the property, looks like a school or something, we were driving around, the lady didnt even look at us when going to her car.

The one in the back of the property is the one I'm referring to, maybe there are two occupied buildings now?  Exeter Job Corps is fairly close to it as well.

i just went to ladd last night finally for the first time, and we didn't have any trouble with cops or anyone.  we didn't have trouble getting in 2 of the buildings, but when we got to the fogarty building we couldn't find a way in anywhere, and didn't have anything to make a way in so we'll have to make a second trip.

so who knows how to get into the fogarty building?

i got in there on a sunday night in the snow and we drove in through the normal job corps entrance and just hid the car in the back of the riverfield building.  there were no cops and it was at like 8:00

I was there with a big group last night for about an hour and we circled most of the buildings and only found one possible entrance. One buildings towards the front (I think it's the front) had an open window that you could slip into the basement through but there's 2 rusty screws that you have to watch out for. We didn't go down cause it didn't seem the like best/safest way to get in. We parked relatively obviously and we even asked for directions for the people at the pizza house and there was no sign of police whatsoever. Anyway, I don't know the names of the buildings but which ones can you get in and how? We plan to explore it in the daylight.

Title: Re: The Ladd School
Post by: CarbonCavi on May 06, 2006, 09:01:38 PM
went two times yesterday, went during the daytime to kinda scope everything out, and if questioned just say that i was taking a walk in the beautiful sunshine ( lol RIGHT ) neways, found plenty of potential ways in, forgerty however you spell it, all borded up, leaking like crazy too from all the rain a few nights ago, as well as everything else boarded up. EXCEPT the hospital building across the street. face the front of the building, concrete trench thing around the front, drop in and go to the right all the way to the end. boom open window, plywood removed, can drop in quick if someone comes.... so i snapped a picture...(http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f337/apexiranger/LaddCenter.jpg)
now its hard to get into though cause the window is in two secions, you open one, the other rotates and closes, that and theres a 5 foot tall wall, and on the other side the floor is busted out about 2 feet deep and about 3-4 feet in diamete making it hard to just drop in or quickly try and get out.
So we check this all out during the day and plan a night return. we do, with another truck and park one at the job corps to guard, and the other driving around for patrol. we have problem with that window. next thing we know here comes our 2nd truck and what looks like a cop car behind it with a spotlight, FUCK! so we press against the building, they near and i hear a diesel motor. now im thinking wtf what cop has a diesel, then these side lights come on, its an ambulance! they must have gotten a call and been the closest thing in the area to respond, so we duck down, they pass and our friend pulls into the building in back thats occupied and parks, the ambulance goes around back, we sprint, jump in the back of the truck and lay down and drive down to the mobil down the road, where we got out and exchanged our view on what just happened. crazy crazy time, want to go in so bad though. i took many many many pictures and will probably upload them into my reg sometime this weekend. just wanted to share my experience with everyone, hopefully someone can use this open window to their advantage before this is too closed.

We didn't even try going across the street, we'd already been spotted by too many people.  I'm pissed we missed the chance at Fogarty 3 years ago, it was wide open back then.

went to ladd today middle of the day saw nobody as usual which is good but i found a way into the fogerty building actually 2 possible ways in 1 definite 1 probable but the probable way will take some balls cuz it will require going in threw a manhole cover the only problem i see with it is that its  a steam tunnel and at the building end theres either a boiler or not if the later is true you should be able to crawl right in i highly recommend nobody tries this way i am not saying the other way in because i want to go back and after i get in i will answer emails for members on it because it is nice and concealed it looks covered and secure but its not i will update after i go in next weekend

please don't take any plywood down the state is up there working frequently during the day cleaning up the grounds taking down plywood will just make them tell the cops and they will start patrolling it again i found a way in with out taking any plywood down i will be going in for sure this week then the way in it is at ground level so no climbing will be needed just some stealth and after i go in this way i will be glad to take a small group back up or tell people where it is so they can go alone if they wish lets try and keep the cops outta here the young kids will be pulling plywood when school gets out in a month or so ,our window of opportunity for no cops will be closing soon

CarbonCavi, the picture with the fresh plywood that XxCieloxX reposted is where I saw a way in, but this was three years ago.  There was also another way in near the wall that says "GA".

And the last picture of your friend driving past the building that's not Fogarty is the building I got into back then.  The door was wide open on it (July 14, 2003).

depending on what type of light you use a IR filter is a must, its like using a flashlight but with the goggles on, it only shows up as a faint visible light.

this looks like a good deal (1.00) as i post
http://cgi.ebay.com/USED-Phantom-Warrior-Flashlight-Torch-LED-NVG-not-U2-IR_W0QQitemZ8813022262QQcategoryZ106987QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.com/USED-Phantom-Warrior-Flashlight-Torch-LED-NVG-not-U2-IR_W0QQitemZ8813022262QQcategoryZ106987QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

amherst drop zone has filter for 30-40 bucks for the mini mag 100 for the c+d cells its alot but check ebay often as you can find em cheeper sometimes.

if you have a surefire this http://cgi.ebay.com/SUREFIRE-tip-off-filter-IR-model-F16-infra-red-filter_W0QQitemZ6631721968QQcategoryZ36071QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.com/SUREFIRE-tip-off-filter-IR-model-F16-infra-red-filter_W0QQitemZ6631721968QQcategoryZ36071QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) is a good deal at the BIN price i paid close to 100.00 for mine and it wasnt a surefire accessory.
Title: Re: The Ladd School
Post by: urbanexplorer on May 22, 2006, 10:53:06 PM
the NV goggles i have, has the IR filter built in theres an on off switch for it for when you are in a totally dark place and that works great my basement is almost zero light at night and with the IR off and the goggles on its hard to see but when i click the IR on its like daytime out i love these goggles they are the best $$ Ive spent on explorering :rolleyes:but the coolest feature is that they are self adjusting with the IR on as you go into an area with more light the goggles dim down so they wont burn you eyeballs right out the back of you head which is very nice i need my eyes lol
Title: Re: The Ladd School
Post by: Dakiel on May 22, 2006, 10:57:36 PM
practice wearing them a few times if you plan on using them exploring, NV has little to zero depth perception so its very easy to fall into a hole or ditch if your not careful also it takes a few minutes for your eyes to adjust after taking them off.
Title: Re: The Ladd School
Post by: urbanexplorer on May 22, 2006, 11:14:05 PM
ive been wearing the goggles and walking around with them and did notice the feild of vision is a lot narrower and the depth perseption is a bit different and i have noticed how they differ from regular sight and  i do appreciate the advise thanks

There is little point in going inside, now, at all. Vandals have torn it inside out, to bloody bits. Broken windows, with the walls full of holes from fists and feet. I remember going inside only a few years ago, and in some buildings, seeing everything intact. It was like stepping into a forbidden museum. Now, it's more like walking into an abandoned building.

And I don't mean that I beleive in ghosts, but if there were spirits, or were there a spirit, it has been all but completely chased away. Spraypaint and litter tend to have that effect.

Oh well. It was inevitable, wasn't it?

hum balls and boobs, this could be interesting. stop it! lol. yeah me and my bud UE got a direct route in that doesnt involve altering any of the secuirty measures taken, or making anything seem out of the ordinary to anyone else. props to his recon for that. UE ill probably give you a buzz today pal. im starting to feel a little better now.
and insane rider, i got a better way instead of kicking their asses. recon on them waiting till they all get together near a building. i kick on the HIDs on my car. blind the shit out of them, theyll be like wtf. then just start doing some nasty donuts all around them covering them in smoke and as the 8000k lights shine thru the smoke itll create a blinding smoke screen. this will keep them from going anywhere and helping them loose a sense of direction. next the billowing cloud, and LOUD LOUD LOUD exhaust will draw attention from the right people ( cops ) and i make a quick exit, and the staties show up, they should be running back to their vehicle by then and BUSTED.

I was wondering if anyone knew if the river-side campus was at all accessible?

river side campus?!
Title: [no subject]
Post by: Ladd Curator on July 28, 2006, 01:33:24 AM
Rte 12 runs roughly up the middle. If one were travelling North, to my recollection, then the main campus would run along the drivers side, along the river - the same side as the Hebrew Cemetery. There are some building on the passenger side, as well, but many fewer. The campus that runs along the river includes, at its farthest end North, the doctors and nurses houses.

So the campus I refer to is the part of that institution that is on the West side, along the river (given that I am correct, that Rte 12 runs North to South). It is the same side on which the security guards are stationed.

im confused because pondview is on the side opposite of the river. the doctors and what not lived in an abandoned neighborhood on the opposite side of the river, the fartheset back portion of the state hospital, hum now i am confused. next to the property that mohegan owns that used to be a house and barn, now just a driveway with an empty field?

Title: Norwich
Post by: Ladd Curator on August 07, 2006, 10:30:49 PM
Perhaps I am confusing the issue.

I was curious to know if the main campus was accessible. Coming up rte 12, the main campus appears to be on the drivers side. It is the same side on which the security office is located.

Though I have been on the grounds, it was not without much bother, given that there appears to be virtually nowhere to park inconspicuously.

Several years ago, I managed to get in on foot; I avoided security only to be eaten alive by a ravenous cloud of mosquitoes before retreating.

Of about a dozen locations to which I am privy, interior access to Norwich has so far eluded me. As the summer is coming to a close, it was my hope to get back "on the trail." Norwich, being as near as it is to me, would be a prime location for exploration; however, gas is expensive, and time is limited. So, to embark on a failed expedition would be, I think, unwise.

Definitely great aerials.

And if you can't find Main St. there's another road called Schoolhouse road or something obvious that goes the backway in on some dirt roads. (I forgot...when I have a map in front of me I'll post that.)

But yeah...for Main St...it's pretty pathetic.  Especially before Job Corps was there.

School Landwoods Rd. isn't abandoned...I took my car down it two weeks ago...teehee.  I go down lots of dirt roads so after a while they all look the same, but I don't remember any large rocks or potholes, so yeah....

I like the William Reynolds Rd. route myself because it's just out of the way.  That's where I got the picture of the  NO ASS! sign.

Title: Re: The Ladd School
Post by: Ladd Curator on August 20, 2006, 11:14:57 PM
There are no tunnels at Ladd. Not entirely certain why. Poor planning, perhaps; the buildings cropped up rather sporadically.

Ladd was also considerably smaller than, say,  Devers, or the State Hospitals, and was built somewhat late in the State Hospital/State School timeline, which may have something to do with it as well.

Also, as regards Main Street: that road was built specifically for the Ladd Center, which was virtually a town unto itself.

Ah. Damn.  Thanks for the clarification though.

I'm still amused by the whole Main St. thing, but then again it's not like Exeter had a downtown area.

we can make a deal if you wish. i get you norwich, you get me ladd.

I don't beleive that there is anything I could "get" you, from Ladd. Except maybe this conventional wisdom:

If you've been, before, then you know how to get there.

If you can find an open door, or a window, then you can get in.

If your intentions are good - and if you're lucky - you won't get caught.

And if you're wise, you'll keep what you know under your hat.

i went to ladd today with one other friend...we found way into fogarty but it was kinda  big jump and didnt want to go in just the two of us but we leaned in and took some pics...we also found a bog busted out window in the first floor of the childrens hospital i think it is, the one that's connected to fogarty...the window sill was only up to my waist so it was really easy to get but we thought we heard some noises and freaked out...we defnitly want to go back with more people...would anyone be interested in meeting there and going in??  Also we looked for other ways into Howe and the girls dorm accross the street but couldnt find anything, does anyone know where to get in these?? Had anyone ever seen a homeless person there???

just remember if you do this the bigger group you have the better chance you have of getting caught. homeless people are usually more scared of you than you are of them and i doubt with so much daily activity around the place that theyd be inside, although i may be wrong.

i went to the ladd again the other day and then today...my friend and i heard alot of banging coming from inside fogarty and also in the childrens hospital...we decided to jump in through the window in the childrens hospital when the banging got alot louder and closer...we ran away a few feet and looked back and there was a head sticking out of the window, i screamed but just stood there thinking maybe he was just checking it out like we were he kept looking at us and climbed out of the window, leaned back in and pulled out a few huge duffel bags and ran in the opposite direction, never saying anything to us even though i yelled to him a few times...he was oviously homeless and living there. We were then wayyy to sketched out to go in and decided to check out the other buildings, we walked around riverfield then decided to go back to the car when we saw a gray car parked outside the childrens hospital with the trunk open, we ducked so they wouldnt see us and wathced as 4 guys who looked to be carrying alot of stuff came out the window and got intot he car and left, it was really weird...we then went straight to the car but decided to drive through one last time and as we came down the road in front of Howe 3 guys in uniform walking a bloodhound dog came around the side of the building, i played stupid and asked what the place was and if you could go in, then as they turned to leave it said K-9 Search and Rescue on the back of their shirts...
Im not sure ahy i went back today after the others day experiance but today we leaned in and yelled for about 10 mins into the childrens hospital to see if we could hear any movement, when we were convinced there was no1 there we jumped in and walked into the hall but it was in alot worse condition than i thought and there was only 2 of us, we lookied in the few rooms but didnt want to open any doors...i really want to go into fogarty but ive only been with myself and 1 other person and the only way i can find in is the lsat window in the corner...its wuite a far jump down and theres a bench thing to land on...is theis where everyone else entered???????? and is it easy to get out???? it was so dark even with flashlights, is the stairs easy to find???? i also want to find the morgue which i read is in the badement there....

So I finally went into LADD tonite, I figured since it was the weekend before Halloween it would be a good time, there was so much activity there.  There were atleast 4 cars full of kids leaving as we were pulling in, when we were parking a car full of 5 guys came and we decided to go in together, there were 9 of us in all. Some of the window we'd attempted to go in were newly boarded up, though one leading to the basement of Fogarty was open.  We ended up exploring all 5 floors of Fogarty and both in the childrens hospital...the only "ghostly" thing we heard was a scream. It was pretty hard to breathe towards the top floors but otherwise it was awesome! And as we were leaving another 3 cars full of people pulled up and were going in.

My friends went this friday night. They came across another group of strangers. They decided to go in together. They got in through a hole in the window of the children's hospital. Then they said they went through a long tunnel to fogarty. I hope i didn't spoil a big secret or anything. They said that they went into a dental room and that they found teeth and dried blood on the ground. Then they wnet into a bathroom where the plumbing backed up and there was...well you know. Then finally they went into a morgue where one of the guys layed down on the cart and got pushed in to the freezer. One of my friends had taken video wiht his cell phone, and there was a mysterious flash on the screen.  Before they even went in, they heard screams coming from the main building. I think it is really creepy. I don't want to go in because it would scare me too much.

It isn't especially surprising, the reported amount of activity at Ladd around Halloween. I've encountered people from time to time during the summer months, but October-November is clearly the peak season. The website had 4,600 visits and about 250,000 hits this October. And every year so far, the numbers double.

It's not that weird, really.  Teenagers break in to party and destroy, UEers find a way in to satiate their desire to explore, and drug addicts and other thieves break in to steal metal (especially copper) and other salvagables left behind.  That's what these guys (and probably the 'homeless' guy with the duffel bags) were probably doing.

I was just at Paul Dever the other day.  A security guard buzzed right by me as soon as I came in and told me I could stay if I put my camera away and stopped taking pictures.  He also mentioned copper thieves ransacking the place (no surprise), and I noticed one of the buildings was full of computers and TVs and shit.  I'm surprised nobody has pillaged that building yet.

I went to the Ladd today around noon just to check things out since it had been awhile.  There is a DOOR down on the connecting peice between Fogarty and the Children's Hospital, also 3 open windows on Howe and a basement window on Newport up by the Job Corps.  We are planning on going possibly Sunday night since the door is much easy access than the 2 previous times we've been in.

No ones posted about Ladd in a while huh?  i went there last week and went into a couple of the buildings.  There fogerty building is definetly cool. i explored all the floors and roof but hesitated to venture into the basement due to the amount of water and lack of light. There isnt much left in the hospital but i got a ton of great pics. The view from the roof is amazing.  I really want to go into the old hospital, i think its called Green, but i cant figure how to get into it seeing as how its free standing and right across from the rehab place.  its also pretty secure because thats the building those two kids found the bottle of acid in and hurt themselves.  Anybody been in any of the other buildings???????  i want to go into them all before it gets demolished.  I love Ladd scool its really creepy there.

Just warning anybody who is planning on going there soon, a couple of people i know went there the other night and got robbed by some gang at gunpoint.  there were 5 of them and they were explorin for like 10 minutes, and they ended up on the roof and saw a big group of people coming. a couple of the people had guns, some knives, and sopposedly one of them was carrying some big axe, but they took there cell phones and money, and smashed out the car window and took the thousand dollar speakers. then they made everyone sit in a room for 20 minutes so they could leave. So if anybody still wants to go there, just go with a friend and keep a heads up for these punks, and theres most likely going to be heavier police there now seeing they reported what happend.  good luck

yea i thought it was made up at first, but now that none of them have phones anymore, and how all 5 of them tell the story exactly the same kida gives it credibility. They also said that the cops werent too mad that they went there because they were still the victims in the end. but they caught the kids and i guess they stabbed some kid at uri or something like that, but my friends are going to cuart to testify against them, ill keep the info coming as i get it

So I finally made my first sightseeing visit to Ladd school yesterday.  I just turned 21, and that fact that I had never been there seemed rather sad.  I drove up to the two large no trespassing signs, which seemed to include travelling via car, but after I turned around, this car just drove through the place like it was no big deal.
So, my first question is, are cars allowed in the Ladd School area (say, driving from the Job Corps to South Rd.?).  And if so, do cops mind people driving around as long as you stay in your car.  I know, trying to explore Ladd School legally is kind of a joke, but I'd be satisfied with some pics of the buildings.

I live right down the road from ladd and go all the time.  Untill recently it was cool to go and walk around as long as you didnt go in the buildings then you werent breaking the law.  But some kids mugged some dudes or something so now the police are all over the place. i think they will arrest u now.  Luckily I explored a couple of the buildings last month and took about 150 pictures i would post them on here but I dont know how.  i also saw some cops and dogs searching the buildings, they had the doors wide open and i got to peek into a building I also wanted to go into.  I always loved the ladd center and would be willing to go back any time.

Thanks guys, yeah fogerty is a cool building. The higher up you go , the better condition its in. I have never been in the basement though.  I can only imagine the water damage and lack of light would make it  pretty dangerous.  Not to mention someone threw some furniture down the stairs and blocked it off kinda.  I have been told there is actually a sub basement as well.  As for the old hospital (green), they keep it boarded up pretty well because some younger kids broke in and found a bottle of sulfuric acid or something and broke it open on themselves.  They didnt die, but almost.  I think that its in the best condition though.  I know of a secret way to get in that cant be boarded up.  Thers one building Ive never been in, its kinda isolated from the rest on the east side of the campus.  I saw the cops going in it once and it looked mint inside.  i saw some really erie red stairs going up, they looked almost gothic.  yeah anyways if anyone wants to make a trip there let me know.  i dont use aol but send me a pm or an email and I'll hit you back.  carbon post ur pics I'de love to see em'

go to job corps... i believe there is an ATV trail on Reynolds rd that you can access if your crafty but it would be stupid to go there and thats against the law...it might be after that metal gate on the left past the state workers house before purgatory who knows, that place gives me bad vibes... ladd is mos def whacked out but theres too many peoples around there  and its not worth a b&e charge bro!

ummm i dont think any place that we really go besides maybe some of the old military forts are on the right side of the law, but either is throwing cigarette butts on the ground, going over the posted speed limit, or many other things we do daily. its all risks we take

No...how cool would it be if you lived there when you were like 5 and the whole place was your playground? lol

When I was growing up I DID grow up on the site.  My grandmother used to work there untill it got shut down and my day care and preschool were right on the site.

i can't stand the noobs asking dumb questions.....ex:how to get inside....if you've tried 6 times unsuccessfully u might wanna think about if urban exploring is the right hobby  for you. i've made a trip there recently and i can tell you guys security is very tight although very predictable. be patient it'll pay off....n one other thing if you seek entry practice you're climbing it's the easiest way in this hellhole
