I always thought the mill in Carolina, RI was long gone, but when you drive by you can see some buildings there, so I checked it out. Turns out there is a ton of really neat stuff! It is all privately owned, but very cool. There are quite a few buildings that are still upkept, and a bunch of neat machinery and the like. If I ever get to check it out with the owner I'll post a bunch of pics. For now here's a little of what I saw:
This house on the property was built in 1770

wouldn't be surprised if they had a security system at those rebuilt locations

You're right about that. I saw at least one security camera. That's why I'm hoping to get a tour from the owner when it gets warmer out.
did you ever get that tour?
Not yet (sigh). I've been busy, but I'll try to get it before the summer ends.
sweet, im interested in this one
what the fuck are you talking about?
I have alot of knowledge regarding the carolina mills and past history, if anyone needed it.

The guy who owns that property bought it back in the '80's to prevent it from being all knocked down and built on. It was and still is zoned commercial so you can imagine what might be there now if it went the other way.
I am also writing a short story (horror-ish) about some of those buildings and the property in general. I hope to complete it by April '15.
