Title: The oldest headstone i have ever found

i took a picture today of a headstone in historical cemetery#45 it is the oldest headstone i have ever seen the date on it is 1768 as the date of death i looked on a few other sites and could not find any this old it is in my member gallery under hist cemetery#45 along with others i have also put it on this post

I've seen cemeteries with every headstone being earlier than that. But maybe they're all birth dates. I HAVE seen 16something to 17something at least once, though.

If preservation efforts had never happened, we'd have a lot of early stones with blank faces.

In the Norwichtown cemetery there are stones that date to 1709, but the photo quality of pics I took of them are pretty bad so they're hard to read.

i know there are older headstones out there and i know there i just thought it was cool to see this for myself it was kinda like finding buried treasure lol :ph34r:

The one with Samuel Adams? I'll see about getting out there next weekend if the weather's nice. Gotta work tomorrow.
