Griswold man caught on roof of state property
MONTVILLE -- A Griswold man was arrested Monday when he was caught on the roof of a structure at the Norwich State Hospital property in Preston, police said.
Glenn A. Reil, 25, of [address removed], was charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree criminal trespassing.
Police said he used an extension ladder to access the roof in an area clearly marked "No Trespassing -- State Property."
Figured I'd post because someone wanted to climb on the roof of Main Admin...hope this wasn't him!
So...what kind of fines and penalties are associated with these kind of charges?
Oh Jesus,
And to think.... All he wanted to do was get a better view. Poor Guy.
Haha... there goes that roof plan... proof that it will get you caught.
Wasn't me, by the way... in case anyone who knows I'm in Griswold was wondering...
ahahhahaha, I knew it wasn't you because that guy was too old (if I remember correctly, you are the same age as me(22)?)
Well, to be honest, it was my idea to get on top of the Admin building, but not by ladder!!!
That's obviously a flashing neon invitation to security. The idea was to get up there through the building.
FYI:
Sec. 53a-109. Criminal trespass in the third degree: Class C misdemeanor.
Sec. 53a-103. Burglary in the third degree: Class D felony.

Yep... 22.
I don't recognize that name... might ask someone I know who it is. Just so I can laugh at them.
Ouch. Burglary? Does that not imply the intent to commit theft, or, at the very least, forced entry?
I suppose by virtue of the fact that he used a ladder, his entry might be considered forced. I hadn't ever really considered the weight of the act of getting inside, as innocuous as it seems to me. Burglary is a felony, isn't it?
I wonder if there is more to this story. Perhaps this person was carrying a crowbar, or something of that nature?
he could have at least asked me. He was on one of the buildings on the opposite side ( pondview ) of the property just sitting.
hum i got an idea....possibly pics to follow.....
Kev, don't get arrested.
lol even the cops cant touch me on these grounds. i cannot be stopped
Well Meg
the police are probably so fed up with trespassers at NSH that sorry to say they will probably make an example of this poor bastard or already did seeing how im right on top of responding here lol
lol august... its ok
I had a very fun 50mph car chase with security around NSH back in 2003.
They caught us in the end but I played the silly girl card "we're LOST HELP US GET OUT OF HERE WE'RE SO SCARED!" and it worked!
Doubt that would work today. ha.
lol it would and it wouldnt. i got vids of us fucking with security back in the day, i had one of the guys fired too lol. that was with securitas....
getting security fired??? :bows down to carbon:
lol i ended up nailing two more guards from securitas and then they ended up folding their bed up when Main Admin was on fire. The guard said he saw flashlights in the admin building and didnt bother to do anything about it. then they lit the room where the fireplace used to be on fire.
