that place is pretty cool but I think there are a few more in RI. Although that is the only one on a public road. I think there are others in Richmond, Scituate, Burrillville and Foster.  That one probably has the most historical signifigance.

did you drive down further past the bridge, one of my guy friends convinced me to do it on halloween of 2004 and i went all the way down central pike and ended up driving down what i assume was either a logging road or some type of dem access road and got my car stuck in a good half a foot of mud to make matters worse i drove a saturn with nearly bald tires i honestly to this day cannot tell you how four extremely weak 17 year olds managed to get the car out by putting branches under the tires because we were in there deep. and once we got back on the main road andrew (the one who convinced me to do it) tells me that him and his brother got stuck down there in the mud in his brothers wrangler. its a really odd place to explore if you don't mind the possibility of getting lodged in the mud.

I didn't exactly get stuck but I went so far down and I couldn't turn around and had to back up at least 1/3 mile...and it SUCKED.

I live not too far away from this bridge and there is somewhat of a story behind it.  Years ago some kid  burned it to the ground one night and as part of his punishment he had to rebuild it, that is what you see today.
