Title: Egypt in 2007!
Post by: Megster on December 30, 2006, 11:20:33 AM
Hey everyone!!!

2007 is going to be exciting, I'm heading to Egypt from March 22-April 1 (bought the tickets Dec. 28).  I'll be damned if I don't get out and photograph every abandoned building I see  I will try to get better shots than those drive bys I did in Maine which no one seemed to like.  LOL

I'll be staying with Egyptian friends in Zeitoun (one of them will be like my bodyguard as he's my old boyfriend from high school), a small borough of Cairo next to the oldest part of the city known as Heliopolis.

I will also have stops in Frankfurt, Germany (extremely short), and Vienna, Austria (16 hours on a Saturday night lolllll).

Before I go, since the weather lately has been so mild, I've been scouting out places on Google Earth that I'd like to explore locally.  I no longer work at The Resident and went back to my web design job so I have the weekends free again weeeeee!

If you get a chance to, read fingerprints of the gods by Graham Hancock im 3/4 through it and there are a few good chapters on Egypt and how its probably much older than most think. http://www.grahamhancock.com/

Have a great time on your trip, look forward to some cool photos.

By the way, I actually found the book at Borders last night so I picked it up.  I'd read 57 pages and I didn't want to put it down!  Thanks for recommending it :)
