Hello, all!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but some friends and I went down here today while scouting around WG for film locations.  After poking around near the front near what seems to be a trailer-turned-guardshack, one of the guys who works with Junior pulled up.  We spoke with him about using part of the property to film, and he said absolutely not.  They really don't want anyone up there unless you want to buy a car.  I guess the state has been busting their balls for a while about wanting him to clear the place out.  Also, the publicity they've received from camera-savvy explorers posting videos online has resulted in tens of thousands in stolen parts over the last few years.

Makes sense to respect their wishes.  The guy we spoke to was very nice and they have a pretty solid case for not wanting people up there.  We made it a little bit up the hill before he arrived (it's a mudslide by the way) and it seems that all the cars you can see on the trail via Google are gone.  Nothing really to see besides an old tractor and a rooster that has taken residence out front.

So here's a PSA:

It's not okay to call me about Hell's Gates.  Just an FYI.

If you want more information about Hell's Gates feel free to call The Nature Conservancy, who manages the wonderful walking trails around HG.

Urban Exploration / Blog temporarily down
Last post by nassahegon73 - September 23, 2016, 04:15:30 PM
After I was threatened with trespassing charges, I decided to take down my blog until the one-year statute of limitations has passed. The preceding links will not work. I have a WordPress blog that is still up and running but nowhere near as extensive as my Blogger site.

Urban Exploration / Former O-Z/Gedney Foundry, Ter...
Last post by nassahegon73 - September 16, 2016, 05:13:43 PM
This complex has been occupied since 1847 and prior to the foundry's closing in 2002, it was the oldest continually operating malleable iron foundry in America. My trip to the complex last October was my first exploration since 1997. I was leery of going inside and limited my exploration to the grounds. Last week, I returned and explored the interior. Here are the links to the two blog posts I wrote about this place:

Here is a link to a blog post with photos about my return trip to this ruin. Compare the photos with my March post to see how much this place has deteriorated in five months.
