Odd-Fellows Home, Worcester

 Today I stumbled upon an interesting building, slowly crumbling on the inside but beautiful and robust on the outside. What struck me the most about the old Odd Fellows home was the main building's similarity to some of Worcester State Hospitals Buildings. Whether the Architecture of Odd Fellow's is Indeed Kirkbride or not, it still redeems a similar style in my opinion to wsh's buildings seeing that both buildings have a red Brick and Granite-faced build.

The only thing I see truly different is the building style, WSH looks more Victorian Gothic, idk what you'd call Odd Fellows Home but its slightly more modern. WSH was built in 1877, Odd Fellows was built in October 8th, 1890.. Now too far off in dates.. What do you think?

more info on odd-fellows? it might be just me but im going to say they have no relation. but that could be different if worcester was done in brick

wow, odd fellows is a gorgeous building (if it's the stone one, I looked at the pics a few days ago and could have mixed them up by now lol)

The one built in 1890 or so looks a little similar to NSH's main administration building.

Any info on the architects?  You can usually find out who designed those buildings pretty easily and find out which other places they did like private residences etc.

The stone building is Worcester insane asylum but the brick building is odd fellows home. Odd fellows home is currently under demolition delay as of fall 2010 but may be torn down soon. This means if you have any interest get to it as fast as u can
